Sales for the new Nissan GT-R super car have taken off in a big way in its first few weeks' pre-sale in Australia. Orders
began in early October, with more than 100 GT-R's already been pre-sold, in a mad dash to secure a part of performance car
history.
The new Nissan GT-R, is already dominating many previous supercar
benchmarks from around the world, namely setting one
of the fastest lap times ever for a production car on the famous
Nurburgring in Germany, which has sparked a rivalry between supercar
giant Porsche and Nissan.
Nissan have been developing and fine tuning the GT-R for the past few years and in doing so have
achieved a 7mins 29sec pass at the Nurburgring even further cementing a top place in the supercar sector.
Priced from around $150,000, the new Nissan hopes to become the new
cult classic,
following on from the previous GT-R models. On sale in Australia next
April the new GT-R will only be available from a hand full of exclusive
Nissan High Performance Centres in each capital city.
Managing Director, Dan Thompson of Nissan Australia had this to say,
"The early customer reaction is fabulous and we have secured enough
production to ensure that no-one who wants an R35 GT-R will be
disappointed."
"More than 5,500 have already been sold in Japan alone since it went on sale there late last year. And remember,
Nissan only builds 1,000 GT-R's per month at the Tochigi factory in Japan."
